Featured MCs
We are honored to welcome Elaine Ikoma Ko and Harold Taniguchi as Masters of Ceremonies for this year’s Holiday Celebration. Both bring a wealth of experience, deep community ties, and a genuine spirit of service that make them the perfect hosts for an evening of friendship and philanthropy.
Harold Taniguchi served more than three decades in public service, including 16 years as Director of King County’s Department of Transportation, where he oversaw transit, airports, roads, and regional mobility. Today, he continues to give back through his leadership with local nonprofits, including the Asian Counseling and Referral Service (ACRS). Harold is well known for his warmth, dedication, and lifelong ties to Seattle’s Japanese American community.
Elaine Ikoma Ko is Chief of Staff for Seattle Councilmember Rob Saka and a longtime community advocate and nonprofit leader. She has held leadership roles with local nonprofits and civic organizations and is recognized for her deep commitment to strengthening Seattle’s Japanese American and Asian Pacific Islander communities. Her family’s legacy also runs deep — her grandfather, Sumio M. Arima, founded the North American Post in 1902 — giving her a personal connection to the history and vitality of the community.
More program highlights — including a sake tasting, kimono show, and special guest speakers — will be announced soon!
