"Shout Out to Japan!"
Final song is a SING ALONG
“Hana wa saku”
led by Songs of Hope
March 3rd
@TBD
Songs of Hope will support the music program of the event. At the end of the event, a Japanese choral music will be performed by "Chorus of Hope", the community choir group formed at the Songs of Hope First Anniversary Concert last spring. http://youtu.be/FOhanyyr82Y
Now we would like to have some more singers who are interested in joining us.
The choral music is "Hana wa saku (Flowers Will Bloom)" commissioned by NHK (Japan Broadcasting Corporation) as a part of their recovery effort support project (http://youtu.be/B11znAup7pY), sung in Japanese and arranged for a mixed chorus. We provide participants with the sheet music with Japanese pronunciation (Romaji), the lyrics with word by word translations and the section recordings for practice, upon registration.
Chorus of Hope participant will be required to attend at least TWO rehearsals:
The performance time will be approximately @ 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 10. A short warmup will take place prior to the performance so we will gather by 1:00 p.m. at Seattle Center.
Please contact Songs of Hope at songs_of_hope@ymail.com for registration.
Besides the Chorus of Hope participants, all event participants, as well as audience members, are invited to join in the singing in order to create a moment for all voices to come together and send a message to Japan, when the music reaches at the climax of the song. We will present all singers with the lyrics by both Japanese and English to sing.
Please join us for supporting Japan!
