Maggie Hammond - Assistant Small Business Liaison, Department of Labor and Industries

Maggie has been working with Labor and Industries since January 2024. After a career in teaching, Maggie knew she wanted to continue working in public service. For her, helping others learn and succeed is what makes work fulfilling. Maggie’s background, rich in teaching strategies and small business experience, have prepared her to support small business owners across the state.

A couple possible examples for discussion:

What should you do when an employee:

- is a teenager?

- has an accident?

- requests a paid sick day?

- files a complaint?

- becomes pregnant?

- refuses to follow directions.

What are my rights as an employee?

Attend the event at the NVC Memorial Hall, 1212 S King St., Seattle, on June 11th at 6:30 PM to engage with experts from the Washington Department of Labor & Industries.

Japanese interpreting services will be available.

Refreshments featuring one of our small businesses.
