The Japanese-American History Tour of the Bainbridge Island

 

2015 marks the 70th anniversary since the end of WWII, a year of historical significance in our modern history. 

Please join us for the historic tour of Bainbridge Island (BI) to learn about the legacy of the Japanese-Americans.

The special tour will be conducted by:

Mr. Clarence Moriwaki, Former President of the Bainbridge Island Japanese American Exclusion Memorial Association

Ms. Lily Yuri Kodama

It promises to be a great educational program for eager learners of all ages!

Schedule

 9:35 a.m.

Ferry to Bainbridge Island departs from Seattle Ferry Terminal, arriving at the island at 10:15 a.m.

10:30 a.m.

Meet in front of the Bainbridge Historical Museum entrance. (215 Ericksen Ave., Bainbridge Island, WA, 98110)

10:40 - 11:30 a.m.  

Museum Tour (incl. a 20min. film showing), then a drive to the Memorial

12:00 - 12:45 p.m.

Guided tour of the BI JA Exclusion Memorial

  • Free for Children under age 10.
  • No public transportation option available for this event. Please drive or carpool. 
  • The event will take place rain or shine. 
  • Registration fees do not include the fare for the ferry.
